„EROS VS HER CLIT“ by Peter Feiler, Berlin and Diana Matilda Crișan, Bucharest. This was another exhibition from the Versus series. This time it was a confrontation between two different positions on the relationship between the sexes and the roles of men and women in society. Artists adhere to diametrically opposed views. They works combine a high level of aggressiveness in the visual language and a masterly technique. Feiler is a master of drawing. Matilda is a master of embroidery. The exhibition is organized by two curators, Elena Ghiţoiu, Bucharest and Igor Zaidel, Berlin. Elena Ghiţoiu is the founder and creator of the iconic Romanian online resource, ArTeVezi, devoted to contemporary art and culture. The NGO ArTeVezi of the same name is a partner in the project.

Diana Matilda Crișan (b. 1995) is an emerging queer artist based in Bucharest, with painting studies completed at the National University of Arts in Bucharest. 2015 marked her first exhibition, in a group show hosted by UNAgaleria. She has been a constant presence on the local art scene ever since then.
Her works are the result of an interdisciplinary process involving drawing, painting, sculpture, installation, and embroidery, all mediums becoming tools of exploring her interest in the multiple transformations of the Anthropocene. Filtered through their own perception, her works are reflections on the processes of creation and destruction, the fine line that separates nature from human development. Returning to Bucharest, her hometown, after three years of experience in Paris, Matilda has become more and more aware of her past, using it as a resource for new artistic projects.

During the lockdown due to Covid 19, I came up with the idea to collect abandoned old bikes, decorate, ennoble them and teach how to do it to my neighbors, gallery visitors, children and teenagers who were constantly spinning in front of the door. The idea was realized during 2021 with the financial assistance of the Aktionsfonds and Quartier Management Soldiner Kitz.

«Pimp-up yo bike»
How to paint an old bicycle in bright and attractive colors by ownself.
The workshop is designed for people from 13 to 73 years old. Groups can be mixed by age. Participants are required minimal manual skills. It is desirable that participants have no hand tremors.
Workshop flow:
Partial disassembly of the bike. Preparation for painting. Painting. Drying. Bike assembly. The workshop can be held both with participants‘ bicycles and with a demonstration bike. Duration, twice for 3 hours. 6 hours together. The workshop can be held in German, English or Russian.
Jewelry made of bicycle parts.
At this workshop, participants will learn how to make jewelry from a wide variety of bicycle parts, from tires to reflectors. The workshop is suitable for participants of any age. 3 to 6 hours. Bicycle parts can be provided by participants or provided by the project manager.
Bicycle as a drawing tool.
In this workshop, the whole bike will be used to create a work of art. We spread a large canvas or paper on the floor and drawings are made on it using the wheels of a bicycle, which leaves traces. It will also be sprayed through the frame, spokes and other parts of the bike.
We also offer a theoretical workshop on the history of bicycles: from a trolley to a mountain bike. The workshop is accompanied by image material.

KRISTINA HELLER IS A PAINTER AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER BASED IN BERLIN AND TULUM. SHE FOCUSES ON PRINT MEDIA AND EDITORIALS. HER PREDOMINANTLY ABSTRACT PAINTINGS ARE VERY COLORFUL INCLUDING GRAPHIC ELEMENTS AND PATTERNS. THE GRAPHIC DESIGN IS A COMBINATION OF CONSTRUCTIVISM AND DADAISM. THE SYMBIOSIS OF HELLER’S ARTISTIC AND GRAPHIC WORK RESULTS IN A DISTINCTIVELY ANALOGUE OUTPUT, FOR EXAMPLE BY RESTYLING THE SURFACES OF DOORS OR CHAIRS INTERPRETATION. HAVING GROWN UP IN A FAMILY OF ARTISTS IN KASSEL, HESSE, KRISTINA HELLER WAS EXPOSED TO AND INTRIGUED BY ART FROM AN EARLY AGE. AFTER GRADUATING IN COMMUNICATION DESIGN IN 2018, HELLER HAS BEEN FREELANCING IN BERLIN. SHE PARTICIPATED IN BERLIN-BASED ART PROJECTS. HER PUBLIC ART OUTPUT HAS BEEN EXHIBITED IN VARIOUS INDOOR AND OUTDOOR LOCATIONS.

The exhibition in City Museum „Omsk Art“, Russia display graphic works, drawings, silk-screen prints, video projections and photographs of a dozen recognizable European artists permanently residing in Berlin, whose first language is Russian. According to the idea of the curators (Melnichenko/Zaidel), the exhibition should become a kind of material for the formation of the viewer’s ideas about what is primary for creativity:global situation, linguistic affiliation or regional and personal problems, in which the artist is mainly involved. Separately, the series of works by Berlin authors presented at the exhibition will determine the individual aesthetic regime and the range of ideas that excite the author.The only limitation in choosing works for the exhibition was the size of the sheets. It had to fit into a folder measuring 100×70 centimeters. Format that is possible to carry with hands. The project is carried out on personal funds, without the involvement of third-party organizations and funds. This format of organizing the exhibition mentally refers the participants and organizers of the exhibition to the romantic 60-s of the last century, when artists from all over the world showed their art to each other using mail, building their own communications bypassing the control of museum institutions. The exhibition include a round table on the topic „The Role of the Artist in the Digital World“ and a lecture by Vasiliy Melnichenko „Anatomy of Art“ dedicated to the philosophy of art as a systematic analysis.

The City Museum „The Art of Omsk“ (GMIO) was created by the decision of the Omsk City Council 21.02.1991. The initiator of the creation is the famous art critic Vladimir Chirkov. The surge of the „avant-garde renaissance“ of the late 1980s gave rise to the creation of the GMIO. The appearance of the new museum summed up the previous period of intensive artistic life of the city, synthesizing the achievements of the official and informal art trends. Being a museum of cultural and anthropological profile, the GMIO exhibits works from the 2nd half of the 20th century. Particularly noteworthy are the works of artists of the „sixties“, amateur and „naive“ artists. The museum is located in the caserne, built in 1823, in the Omsk fortress, 1768.
