The exhibition "The Left Hand of Truth" immerses t

The exhibition "The Left Hand of Truth" immerses the viewer in a mystical exploration of the nature of truth, emphasising its multilayered, mysterious and elusive nature. The title of the exhibition, like a whisper from the dark depths, metaphorically refers to the "left hand" - a symbol of the secret, hidden forces that govern our perceptions. This hand, traditionally associated with mystical and occult aspects of human nature, epitomises the idea that truth is often hidden in the shadows, manifesting itself only in elusive, sometimes sinister and unpredictable forms.

Die Ausstellung "Die linke Hand der Wahrheit" lässt den Betrachter in eine mystische Erkundung des Wesens der Wahrheit eintauchen und unterstreicht deren vielschichtige, geheimnisvolle und schwer fassbare Natur. Wie ein Flüstern aus den dunklen Tiefen bezieht sich der Titel der Ausstellung metaphorisch auf die "linke Hand" - ein Symbol für die geheimen, verborgenen Kräfte, die unsere Wahrnehmungen steuern. Diese Hand, die traditionell mit mystischen und okkulten Aspekten der menschlichen Natur assoziiert wird, verkörpert die Idee, dass die Wahrheit oft im Verborgenen liegt und sich nur in schwer fassbaren, manchmal unheimlichen und unvorhersehbaren Formen manifestiert.

The Sense of Space exhibition brings together space and artist to demonstrate that space is a malleable medium that reflects the nature of human embodiment across the full range of its motor, perceptual, emotional, expressive, developmental and social capacities.
All the participant artists have faced the experience of finding themselves in a new space due to relocation, emigration, political persecution and personal reasons. The projects in the exhibition primarily reflect the struggle of recognizing a new space, making connections and building relationships with it.

В этой лекции мы исследуем многогранную природу творчества, определяемую через атрибуты новизны, полезности, эстетики и аутентичности, и их влияние на различные культурные ландшафты.

Анатолий Хархурин, Ph.D. сочетает в себе художника, поэта и ученого. Как профессор психологии, он занимается изучением взаимосвязи между творчеством и многоязычием. Его исследования опубликованы в монографиях, сборниках, научных журналах и энциклопедиях. Но его влияние выходит за рамки академических кругов: он разработал инновационную образовательную программу Plurilingual Intercultural Creative Keys (PICK), предназначенную для развития многоязычных, межкультурных и творческих компетенций. Кроме того, он создал литературный проект GOROD в Нью-Йорке, активно публиковался в периодических изданиях в России, Европе и США и издал книгу стихов “BCE”. В своих экспериментальных работах Анатолий применил методы когнитивной науки к поэтическому тексту и различными художественными медиям. Его работы, объединяющие визуальное искусство и поэзию, выставлялись в Берлине, Вене, Дубае и Москве.

A dialog between art and science. We merge the formal language of science and the metaphorical language of art into a coherent method of creative expression.

Anatoliy Kharkhurin, Ph.D. is a blend of artist, poet, and scientist. As a Professor of Psychology, his academic work delves into the interplay between creativity and multilingualism. His research has been published in monographs, edited volumes, scientific journals, and encyclopedias. But his influence extends beyond academia: he has developed the innovative Plurilingual Intercultural Creative Keys (PICK) educational program designed to enhance multilingual, intercultural, and creative competencies. Anatoliy's vibrant literary presence is evident in his initiation of the GOROD literary project in New York City and his extensive poetry publications in Russia, Europe, and the USA. His poetic endeavors have evolved after his poetry book “BCE,” merging cognitive psychology with poetic text and various art media. Currently, his experimental work straddles visual art and poetry, with exhibitions in Berlin, Vienna, Dubai, and Moscow.

Agniya Pasechnik is a psychotherapist renowned for her innovative integration of hypnotherapy into clinical practice. With a deep interest in the psychological phenomenon of Encounter, she explores this concept's applications in everyday life and effectively incorporates empirical research into her therapeutic approach. Dr. Pasechnik is also a co-author of the PICK educational program.

Join us 5 January as we will explore examples from the official and counterculture. Discuss their essence and unravel the impact they have on the collective consciousness of the masses on a symbolic and emotional level.»

Diana Meyerhold is a director, teacher, and contemporary artist.
«Born in Bishkek and raised in St. Petersburg, I graduated from the Russian State University of Performing Arts with a degree in Drama directing. I specialize in creating social and political theatre, employing hybrid forms of live art that combine analog and digital elements, and exploring innovative methods of artistic engagement.
I have collaborated with well-known cultural collectives and NGOs in Russia: such as Nochlezhka, Theatre.Doc, Upsala Circus, AXE Theatre and the Street Art Museum, as well as internationally with entities like the Venice Biennale (2019), Bread and Puppets, and Pikene på Broen.
Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict, I have chosen to remain in Russia, continuing my artistic, activist, and human rights work. My high-risk anti-war activities eventually led me to Berlin, where I aim to share my observations, research, and experiences in contemporary russian art.»

Der Advent naht, der Weihnachtsmann ist auf dem Weg, sein Stellvertreter aus Schokolade schon jetzt zu verspeisen.
Am Freitag, den 24.11.23 und Sonntag, den 26.11.23 jeweils von 18:00 bis 22:00 zeigen Sebastian Herrling und Dima Dobrovolskij Collagen, die sich künstlerisch mit dem Thema Weihnachten, dessen spirituellem Ursprung und seiner Kommerzialisierung in der heutigen Zeit auseinandersetzen.
Obwohl sich die meisten von uns nach Ruhe, Besinnlichkeit und Liebe sehnen, artet es häufig in Hektik und Stress aus. Dabei erfasst der “Konsumterror” inzwischen weite Teilen der Welt.
Ein Grund mehr für das Duo Euch zur Reflexion über dieses Thema anzuregen.

We cordially invite you all to the opening of the exhibition of two wonderful artists, Maria Arendt and Andrei Prigov. The exhibition is called Sky versus Sky. Using different techniques and methods, both artists will tell and show to an interested public their celestial observations and cloud experiences.

Sky vs Sky

"Regardless of our geographical location and cultural aspects of world perception we experience the sky as well as all its forms of meteorological, optical, and other manifestation as a phenomenon whose nature is the same for all of us. But can our modes of perceiving the sky be like endlessly diverse and abysmally disparate paradigms of Weltanschauung that determine and shape humans’ understanding of the surrounding world? We can easily assume that a meaningful conversation about the sky would not be possible. It might lead to mutual alienation and confrontations.
In Sky vs. Sky Maria Arendt (Raining with Animals) and Andrey Prigov (Cloud Spawn) explore unusual processes they observe—or rather, perceive—in the sky. These purely individual forms of experiencing celestial occurrences are akin to the phenomena spied in the heavens by countless forms of mythological consciousness, which endows these events - be it turbulence or cloud formation - with radically different and radically incompatible natures.

At the exhibition Lyudmila Belova will present an installation reflecting the structure and workings of the human brain. In addition to the theme there will be graphics and paintings by the artist.
The author briefly describes the installation:
"By creating a neural network space out of polyethylene foam pipes, or by depicting this
microscopic world by very traditional means, using painting and drawings, I want to bring the world of interwoven neurons, axons and dendrites closer to the viewer and make it more understandable. To show the existence of the inner universe that each person has, without showing it on the screen. "
This work was inspired by the work of Pavel Chelishchev (1898-1957).
The exhibition will feature a fragment of the audio installation "Default network" by IGOOR POTSUKAYLO.

Mein Interesse an Riefenstahl gilt ihrer schillernden Persönlichkeit, ihrem widersprüchlichen Vermächtnis und ihrer tabuisierten und somit verhinderten Rolle als feministisches Leitbild.“ - Peter Feiler.

On Dec 3-4, a congress of anti-war initiatives was

On Dec 3-4, a congress of anti-war initiatives was held in Berlin (rossiyane who are against the war). After the congress (Dec 05), representatives of the indigenous peoples of the Russian Federation gathered within the walls of the BAS CS Gallery and discussed issues of decolonization, great russian chauvinism, racism, Asiatic-phobia and forms of interaction and cooperation with other NGOs and each other. The meeting was decorated with plov from Maria, poses (giant Buryat ravioli) from Misha and Kalmyk salted tea.
Many thanks to all participants and see you next time.

Foto-Ausstellung “Fluchtgeschichten. Queere Ukraine” ist ein gemeinsames Projekt von Kirill Kazakov, Fotograf aus Kyjiw, und Quarteera e.V. im Raum des BAS CS Gallery ( Teil von Kolonie Wedding e.V. ).

Die Ausstellung präsentiert 20 Fotoportraits und fünf Videos. Aus den Kunststücken sprechen mit dem Publikum queere Menschen, die vor russländischem Krieg aus der Ukraine nach Berlin fliehen mussten. 20 Geschichten über Angst, Verlust und Flucht, aber auch über Identität, Selbstbestimmung und Hoffnung – auf den Frieden, auf den Sieg der Demokratie, auf das neue Leben in der Regenbogenstadt.

Über Kirill Kazakov.

“Kunst erweitert die Grenzen des Bewusstseins und verändert die Wahrnehmung der Realität. Meine Werke sind Schritte auf dem Weg der Erforschung der Kunst und der Welt um mich herum; ein Kommunikationsmittel, das meine Gedanken und Emotionen besser als tausend Worte zum Ausdruck bringt. Mein Großvater, ein Fotograf, führte mich in die Welt der professionellen Fotografie ein, als ich noch ein Kind war. Seitdem hat mich die bildende Kunst fasziniert, und der Rest meines Lebens war mit der Fotografie verwoben. Ein großer Teil meiner 15-jährigen Erfahrung war dem Fernsehen gewidmet, wo ich als Regisseur Dokumentarfilme drehte und bearbeitete.”

Kirill Kazakov ist Fotograf, Performance- und Mixed-Media-Künstler. Er hat am New Yorker Institut für Fotografie studiert. Vor dem Krieg lebte und arbeitete er in Kyjiw, Ukraine.

Über Quarteera.

Quarteera e.V. ist der erste bundesweite Verein russischsprachiger LSBTQ*-Migrant*innen, der sich seit 2011 gegen mehrfache Diskriminierung von russischsprachigen LSBTQ* (aufgrund ihrer Herkunft und Sexualität) entgegenzuwirken. Die Aktivist*innen stammen aus verschiedenen Ländern des PostOst-Raumes, so wie u. a. der Ukraine, Belarus, Russland, Usbekistan, Kasachstan.
